Come along for a free trial and find out why so many new players join our clubs - all MK clubs welcome newcomers although Colossus (Mondays) and Rogues (Tuesdays) especially looking for new recruits right now at the start of 2012!

Teams have 4 men and 4 women and try to shoot a ball into a korf (Dutch for basket), which is on a pole 3.5m high. There is space behind the korf, so we shoot from all angles.
There are opportunities for all: whether you want to train for fitness and fun; or whether you want to play in a World Cup Final!

There are friendly clubs across Milton Keynes ready to welcome all new players - from total beginners to seasoned pros. Clubs train in several venues across Milton Keynes and compete together in league matches played most Sundays. For most clubs the first two training sessions are free, with a £4 session fee afterwards. Check the Club Pages for more team specific details or visit the Venues to for location and contact details and the all important postcode to plug into your sat nav!
Well, (whatever a gib is... ), just pick a club and turn up to their training session. That's really all there is to it! If you're especially organised, you can find a contact for each team on the club/team pages who can answer any queries you may have, other than that grab your kit and go!
If you've played before, you probably already know - our teams welcome all newcomers, so just pick one and go. You can enjoy playing socially or have a chance to play in local or even regional leagues. If you've never played before you're going to be doing a lot of running about so bring suitable footwear and clothing. It's also thirsty work - so take something to drink. All clubs have arranged for a coach to organise training sessions, and these are usually split into a number of drills to cover shooting practice and movement in the first half, with something of a short game in the second.

The first thing to realise is that Korfball is a fast growing sport played in 60 countries outside of Holland, where it originated. This years World Championships are being played in China. Still, a lot of people you speak to will not have heard of it (Korfball? That's a funny name!), and many players you meet will not have been playing for long.
The Basics can be explained in seconds...
...but the subtlties present challenges to even the most experienced of players.
