Colossus

RECRUITING NOW FOR 2012! (BOTH MEN AND LADIES) Colossus train every Monday at Shenley Leisure Centre from 6.30-8.30pm

The oldest of the MK City clubs was formed in 2006. In this time the team has wandered around a fair amount with a couple of seasons at Woughton Leisure Centre; a season at Lord Grey School; then a year at the Academy on Leadenhall before settling at possibly Milton Keynes finest hall at Shenley Leisure Centre.

Colossus had a strong season in South Midlands Division 2 last year and will hope to challenge for the D2 title this year.

Training

Colossus train every Monday at Shenley Leisure Centre from 6.30-8.30pm. Training always ends in the bar in the leisure centre.  Colossus is a very friendly club and is looking forward to welcoming new players of all standards.

Recent History

The club is rebuilding after coach Beth Bennett (also coach of Scotland) moved on to live in Poole and co-coach Loes Verstegh moved back to Ely.

However Colossus is delighted to announce that Nick Boknecht has been recruited to coach the the team for the season ahead.

Colossus is again led by the inspirational and very lovely Kelly Crabtree with stalwarts Graham Walter, Joanne Bamforth and Jo Lindsay back again. Young talent Sam Burge, Matt Roberts and Jo Redman are all back alongside rising star Preveena Ramesh amongst others.

Jo Rose and Jackie Campbell, two of our most social players, trained hard over the summer and made huge improvements.  The indoor season will suit them as they were last seen looking very soggy at Korfstock.

We hope to see two experienced players in Lee Philpott and Joanne Liddie return to regular training this year.

The loss of Clive Ellis and Joe Palmer to Roos means there is more space at the top end for talented boys to come through.  And we are delighted to have Jess Hobbs (Roos) and Chris Amesbury (Camels) transferring in.
